In November of 2008 I had been a member of the same gym for ten years and at that point was rarely going for workouts on my own. I had lost my incentive. A postcard from Fitness Together arrived in the mail that month. I called to inquire about their program, went for a complimentary workout, and signed up immediately.

I wanted to lose a few pounds, but more importantly I wanted to get into better shape and use weight training to avoid osteoporosis. I lost those few pounds, lost body fat, and I'm looking forward to my next bone density scan. I won second place in the Fitness Together cardio contest last spring and was even named a client of the month recently!

Initially I thought that I would feel intimidated by working with a trainer privately, but that was not the case. The staff at Fitness Together is professional, knowledgeable, and caring. My trainer is very professional. I actually enjoy my workouts even though they are rigorous. On the occasions when I must reschedule workouts, the staff is extremely flexible.

If I had not joined Fitness Together, I know that I would have continued to waste my money paying for a gym membership that I did not use. I now train three times a week and feel better than ever. More than once this summer people have asked me if I go to a gym. No one asked me that before I joined Fitness Together.

When I got out of boot camp (US Marines), I was in fairly decent shape, but I still had no stamina; I couldn't even run a mile without a lot of pain. After, as well as before, boot camp, I was never able to keep up any exercise routine past a couple of weeks, after which I would have no activity at all for months. My level of fitness declined rapidly afterwards. I developed back and wrist pain. Over the last 5 years, I’ve tried getting a personal trainer on three separate occasions.

I hated going, I did no cardio except a short warmup, and I gave up within ten sessions. Of course I had no positive results to speak of. I joined Fitness Together in June, so I’ve been training here, mostly with Gina Quaranta, for three months (my doctor didn't authorize me to start training until July).

When I started out, I couldn’t finish a training session. I would often feel sick and need to take frequent breaks. I now actually run the 1.5 miles from my house to my training sessions and arrive without pain, only slightly out of breath.

I no longer have back or wrist pain and have a lot more energy. I love going to training sessions and sometimes come in on my days off to do extra cardio. I feel stronger than ever, and expect to keep improving. Happily, my face no longer really matches pictures on my id cards, I’ve lost a lot of fat in my face, and all my friends have noticed the change in me.

I learned of Fitness Together through my husband, a fitness guru himself. He works in Port Jefferson and became aware of what they offered their clients from one of his patients. I have been training consistently at FT for over five months. Without a doubt it is the best descision and best investment I have ever made.

As a cancer survivor, my health became my number one priority. It is because of my experience at FT that I have lost almost 60 lbs., and I am half way to my goal of 120 lbs!

I believe I have been this successful so far because at FT they hold you accountable to the exercise and lifestyle changes it requires to achieve your goals. They are encouraging and sincerely care about you as an individual. The trainers are great at pushing their clients to a level you didn’t think was possible. It has been amazing for me to look back at my transformation, not just in weight loss, but also in physical strength and cardiovascular endurance. Since training at FT I have started running again and have completed two 5K races and even a 10K!

In the past, I have attempted to lose weight and get in shape on my own or with other diet programs, but was never successful. So now I can confidently tell you that training at Fitness Together really does work.

Since then, I’ve lost nearly 30 lbs and a similar # of inches (I’ve probably lost more but those pesky, fab muscles I’m building weigh more than the flab I’m losing!). My strength, flexibility and body mass index continue to reflect the changes brought about by the regimen your program encourages. And, of course, I look better and better weekly, not just to my mirror but also to my husband, family and friends. However, more than these physical changes are the intangible benefits Fitness Together has added to my life. I’m eating differently, breathing in a more relaxed way and enjoying greater energy (and what business owner couldn’t use that?) I’ve become committed, not just in word - in actual behavior too - to ensure my plan to live to 110 is fully executed! My own commitment lagged beyond that of your excellent team of trainers, each one of whom is unfailingly supportive, challenging, motivating and tough as nails when it comes to making me continue to reach for new goals. I find I now actually look forward to working out! To putting on sneakers and sweats and feeling those muscles rip! Devoted to sweating on the treadmill while I listen to the music of my choice or just watching the hypnotizing image on the TV screen in front of me. I even do cardio workouts when I’m not here.

Yes, it’s true: Fitness Together has definitely changed my life and will continue to do so as I strive to take out of the deep recesses of my closet (and wear) the very old size 8 Calvin Klein jeans that have been lonely so long.

"I came to Fitness Together in mid December. At that time I had been steadily dieting and doing cardio workouts for 3 months with good results. I had a lot of weight to still lose and I didn’t think that I could get there with out incorporating strength training into my routine. I knew nothing about training; therefore I debated about signing up because I thought that I would be intimidated by the gym environment.

From the moment I came in for my initial assessment, I was made to feel very comfortable. The owners were very encouraging and supportive of the job that I had already done. A misconception that many people have about working with a trainer is that they are going to work you so hard that you won’t want to come back. Nothing could be more further from the truth at Fitness Together. They start out slowly while they analyze the client’s strengths and weaknesses. The workouts get more challenging everytime and I look forward to it.

The trainers at Fitness Together make you feel at home the minute you come in. Their personalities as well as their training methods are very different, but that is why I like working out with a small group of dedicated trainers. The ability to work the same muscle groups in varied ways keeps the experience very fresh. The amount of knowledge I have gained from from the trainers about nutrition and workout technique is invaluable. They are all good at motivation, but most of all they are are good people, who care about their job. In closing I have to say that it is all in the results. The results have been incredible. Client of the Month Congratulations to Laura Foley-Totillo, Fitness Together’s Client of the Month.

When Laura first started at FT one of her goals was to build muscle; she is well on her way to successfully attaining that goal! Over the past six weeks Laura’s strength and endurance has drastically increased completing exercises with weights at least 10 pounds heavier then when she started her training program.

Laura’s success is due to her dedication and commitment to hard work and extra time spent on cardio workouts as well as a complete change the way she approaches her nutrition. She pushes herself during each session to ensure she is reaching her maximum potential. It is obvious her perseverance is paying off!

Julienne Condos

Client of the Month Fitness Together would like to proudly announce that Julienne Condos, of Rocky Point, is our June “Client of the Month”. Julienne is someone that has the strength, courage, and determination to never be defeated.

While battling Leukemia, she pushes herself to the max everyday to achieve the goals she has set. Having this illness does not stop her from coming in early, doing an hour of cardio prior to her workout, and pushing her body to the physical limits every session. The dedication and motivation that Julienne displays is inspiring to all of us here at Fitness Together.

After only being a member since May, she has lost 25 lbs of body fat, dropped 4 sizes and is now at a weight that she hasn’t been at in 5 years. Along with all of this, Julienne has increased strength dramatically, flexibility and endurance. She can now go out running with her husband who actively engages in physical competitions. Julienne’s will to fight and win is something that we can all learn from. Refuse to lose!!!

Anthony Isola

Client of the Month Fitness Together would like to happily announce that Anthony Isola of Stony Brook, is our May “Client of the Month”. Anthony has only been a Fitness Together member since early April and his hard work, determination and commitment to hit his goals is coming quicker than anyone has expected, especially himself.

He is the epitome of what a healthy, hard working client should strive to be. Nutrition is the most important aspect in ones results when it comes to physical fitness and Anthony is well aware of that.

His eating habits compare to that of a pro athlete and his willingness to go the extra yard, makes him a joy to train and something to aspire to. Anthony comes a half hour early every session and never misses a day. His 110% effort day in and day out has really shown in every aspect of his overall look and well being. In as little as 8 weeks, Anthony has packed on lean muscle mass, increased flexibility and cardiovascular endurance.

Always looking for new and fun ways to work out and maximize his cardio. This has been the key to his endurance and the loss of body fat. Pushing himself to the limit is what leads to success.

Regina Euler

Client of the Month Regina has been a client for the past several years and has successfully dominated our “First Annual Cardio Contest 2009” by taking 1st place with over 3,000 minutes or roughly 50 hours of cardio! For the past 3 months Regina has been completely dedicated to her training and has spent hours before and after workouts improving her cardiovascular routine.

Regina had been so enthusiastic about winning the contest she did not realize the other benefits she was achieving including weight loss of 15 pounds, dropping almost 6 dress sizes, and having more energy then ever before. When Regina was asked about how she was feeling at the end of the contest she said, “I feel stronger, less fatigued, and my eating habits have drastically improved.” Regina was not only self motivated but led by example and pushed other clients to do their best to catch her.

Congratulations Regina on your success and keep up the hard work because you’re the one everyone will be trying to beat in next year’s contest.

Linda Huskisson

Client of the Month Fitness Together would like to happily announce that Linda Huskisson of Mount Sinai is our March “Client of the Month”. Linda’s hard work, commitment and determination made it an easy decision when it came to choosing this prestigious honor. Linda is consistently early and prepared for whatever the session entails. Open minded and eager to make further physical advancements, she pushes herself to do at least an hour of post workout cardio making sure to fully benefit from all of her time in the facility, as well as warming up at a high intensity above and beyond what we would expect. Her dedication is a strong basis for why she has done so well. As a retired teacher, Linda has found stability and great benefit as well as a new educational mindset since starting her journey here only 4 months ago. The thing that makes Linda so successful is the fact that she’s endlessly learning new ways to build new muscle, improve her balance and stability as well as drastically lower her risk of heart disease or by dropping her blood pressure to much healthier levels.

Since her last assessment, Linda has lost nearly 5% body fat, lost over 10 inches and dropped another 5 pounds of pure fat. Along with these numbers, Linda’s strength has increased dramatically, allowing her to carry all of her heavy books wherever she may go.

This healthier lifestyle should be a motivating factor to all. We look forward to her much continued success in reaching even more amazing accomplishments in the gym, and on behalf of Fitness Together…

Charlie Lamberti

Charlie Lamberti Fitness Together would like to happily announce that Charlie Lamberti of Port Jefferson Station is our February “Client of the Month”. Charlie’s hard work, commitment and determination made it no shocker to those who have seen his training sessions. His dedication alone is a strong basis for why he has done so well. Charlie manages to fit in cardio training twice a day and even has had the willpower to change anything in his lifestyle that was prohibiting him from reaching his goals.

The thing about Charlie that makes him so successful is the fact that he continuously tries to beat his previous session’s performance and constantly asks for constructive critique, feedback as well as advice! No score can be given to a man who has the heart, the strength and the drive that burn inside him. However, THESE numbers speak for themselves...

In only 8 weeks, Charlie has lost nearly 10% body fat, lost 9 inches, while still putting on nearly 25 pounds of Lean body mass and increased his flexibility by 3 inches. This healthier lifestyle should be a motivating factor to all. Mary Esposito

Mary EspositoFitness Together would like to announce that Mary Esposito of Port Jefferson Station is our January “Client of the Month” . Since joining Fitness Together, Mary’s overall demeanor and drive have completely altered. Her motivation pushes her to continuously arrive early and get the most out of her training sessions. Her eagerness to make great strides shows everyday as her cardiovascular routine is constantly being pushed harder and harder.

During her training with the team, her determination, motivation, accountability and her poise have blown away even her own expectations and with all these distinctive characteristics no one can question how hard she has worked.

To date, Mary has lost over 12 lbs, 12% body fat and over 21 inches since her journey here began. With the loads of cardio and continuous drive to obtain the goals we set for her, we know that with Mary, nothing is unreachable, nothing is impossible! Yoni Fogel

Client of the Month Fitness Together would like to congratulate Yoni Fogel of Port Jefferson as our "Client of the Month". For only being at Fitness Together for a little over 3 months Yoni has made a tremendous lifestyle change in and out of the gym. He is sure to never miss a session and consistently trains 3 times a week, not including his additional hours of cardio he puts in. Yoni even started jogging to the gym for some of his sessions and is always sure to hand in a weekly food journal.

Training with Fitness Together has helped Yoni lower his blood pressure, gain 11.5% in his VO2 level, increase his bicep strength by 25lbs, increase his flexibility and even lower his body fat percentage by 4% so far. Most importantly Yoni trained in the Marine Corps and says he feels in even better shape now especially using correct form during his workouts. Well being is one of our main goals for our clients.

We re-evaluated and set new goals for Yoni that we can't wait to reach as a team. So overall we are proud to have Yoni Fogel as a client at Fitness Together and would like to congratulate him one more time for all his effort.

Julienne Condos

Client of the Month Fitness Together would like to proudly announce for the second time this year, Julienne Condos, of Rocky Point, as our "Client of the Month"! Julienne started with us in April of this year and has been a dynamo ever since. Julienne still puts 110% into every workout. Her trainer always switches up her workouts from heavy weights to cardio to rigorous boot camp style sessions.

Julienne is currently in the second place position in our Cardio Contest which is nothing to laugh at! She has clocked in almost 700 miles since it began. She has lost 70+ pounds and will continue to do so at the rate she consistently works at.

Julienne also regularly competes in triathlons as well as other local races. Bottom line - Julienne deserves to be client of the month and will be hard pressed to beat-out.

Julienne Condos


For the first time ever, Fitness Together of Port Jefferson has nominated a Client of the Year.

Julienne Condos of Rocky Point was shocked when she was presented with this prestigious honor and gifted 50 free training sessions.Since Julienne started training at Fitness Together in May of 2009 she has lost approximately 90 lbs, a total of 66 inches, increased her overall bicep strength by 21 lbs, and lost 13% body fat. Although these results are amazing, it is Julienne's drive for results and her will to achieve that has blown all of us at Fitness Together away.

A little over a year and a half ago Julienne was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and began the fight for her life. Shortly after her diagnosis, when she made the decision to fight this disease head on, she also made a commitment to herself to get her body back. Julienne knew that despite how tough the battle was going to be she was going to beat it and she wanted to have a quality of life when she did. To Julienne, that meant finally dealing with her weight problem and changing her way of life.

Presently, Julienne is still receiving chemo treatments every week but manages to make it to the gym 3 X's a week and come in on her off days to do cardio. She recently has run in numerous races all throughout Long Island and was the winner of the cardio contest at Fitness Together which required her to complete 1,950 miles of cardio over the course of 3 months. Julienne is truly an inspiration to everyone she meets and it has been an honor working with her.

Fitness Together is proud to present their first ever Client of the Year to Julienne Condos for truly being our inspiration!
